Amatorski was founded by Inne Eysermans (vocals, keys, guitar, composition, production) in 2007 in Ghent. Together with Sebastiaan Van den Branden, Hilke Ros, and Christophe Claeys, the group took part in Humo’s Rock Rally in 2010 and released the self-produced EP Same Stars We Shared, which included Come Home, a song based on letters exchanged between Inne’s grandparents during World War II.

Their first album TBC (2011) was recorded in Kortrijk and Ghent and mixed in London by Darren Allison (known for his work with Belle & Sebastian, Efterklang, and The Divine Comedy). The album reached the fifth position on the Belgian charts and earned the band nominations in various categories at the MIA Awards. After signing with Crammed Discs in 2013, both early releases were issued internationally. Meanwhile, they composed soundtracks for television (including the title track for The Missing on BBC) and films, and explored the boundaries of music, internet, and video art in their interactive multimedia project Deleting Borders. Additionally, they released the DVD of Impatience, a live performance featuring their original soundtrack for the film by Charles Dekeukeleire from 1928.

From Clay to Figures followed in 2014, produced by Inne Eysermans and Sebastiaan Van den Branden. That same year, Amatorski supported Stromae for several concerts in France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Later releases included the singles Hear Me (2016) and Welcome (2017), as well as a 7" vinyl featuring reworks by Julia Holter and Roman Hiele.

After a break, Amatorski released Curves and Bends, Things Veer (2024) on Crammed Discs, an album written, composed, arranged, and produced by Inne Eysermans, with contributions from Jasper Segers, Christophe Claeys, Liew Niyomkarn, and Dienne Bogaerts, and mixed (in mono) by Yves De Mey. For the accompanying tour, Amatorski collaborated with visual artist Winnie Claessens and scenographer Lucas Van Haesbroeck.
